Help

If enabled, a new mesh imported will use 8 bit (if <=256 bones) or 16 bit (if > 256 bones) bone indices for rendering.

Usage

Unreal console (open with ~)
> r.GPUSkin.Support16BitBoneIndex 1

Console variables take a value. Replace 1 with the setting you need. Run it with no value to print the current one.
